Translation
Del mismo modo que el fuego no disminuye cuando se vierte mantequilla en él, sino que se aviva todavía más, el esfuerzo por apagar los deseos de disfrute mediante el disfrute ininterrumpido nunca da resultado. [De hecho, debemos abandonar voluntariamente los deseos materiales].
As supplying butter to a fire does not diminish the fire but instead increases it more and more, the endeavor to stop lusty desires by continual enjoyment can never be successful. [In fact, one must voluntarily cease from material desires.]

Aun teniendo dinero y recursos suficientes para satisfacer los sentidos, no se logra la satisfacción, pues el esfuerzo por apagar los deseos de disfrute mediante el disfrute mismo nunca da resultado. En este verso se da un ejemplo muy apropiado. No se puede apagar un fuego vertiendo mantequilla sobre él.
One may have enough money and enough resources to satisfy the senses but still not be satisfied, for the endeavor to stop lusty desires by enjoying can never be successful. The example given here is very appropriate. One cannot stop a blazing fire by trying to extinguish it with butter.
