ataḥ kathañcit sa vimukta āpadaḥ
punaś ca sārthaṁ praviśaty arindama
adhvany amuṣminn ajayā niveśito
bhramañ jano ’dyāpi na veda kaścana

Translation

Ó Mahārāja Rahūgaṇa, matador dos inimigos, se, de alguma forma, a alma condicionada consegue escapar dessa posição perigosa, ela retorna ao lar para desfrutar da vida sexual, pois essa é a maneira como o apego age. Assim, sob o encanto da energia material do Senhor, ela continua a vagar pela floresta da existência material. Nem mesmo na hora da morte, ela descobre seu verdadeiro interesse.

O killer of enemies, Mahārāja Rahūgaṇa, if the conditioned soul somehow or other gets out of his dangerous position, he again returns to his home to enjoy sex life, for that is the way of attachment. Thus, under the spell of the Lord’s material energy, he continues to loiter in the forest of material existence. He does not discover his real interest even at the point of death.

SIGNIFICADO—É esta a maneira como a vida material acontece. Quem se deixa capturar pela atração sexual se enreda de tantas maneiras que não consegue compreender a verdadeira meta da vida. Portanto, o Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (7.5.31) diz que na te viduḥ svārtha-gatiṁ hi viṣṇum: em geral, as pessoas não entendem a meta última da vida. Como se afirma nos Vedas, oṁ tad viṣṇoḥ paramaṁ padaṁ sadā paśyanti sūrayaḥ: aqueles que possuem avanço espiritual simplesmente voltam seu olhar para os pés de lótus de Viṣṇu. Entretanto, não estando interessada em reviver sua relação com Viṣṇu, a alma condicionada deixa-se cativar pelas atividades materiais e permanece em um cativeiro incessante, sendo desencaminhada por muitos falsos líderes.

This is the way of material life. When one is captured by sexual attraction, he becomes implicated in so many ways and cannot understand the real aim of life. Therefore Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (7.5.31) says, na te viduḥ svārtha-gatiṁ hi viṣṇum: generally people do not understand the ultimate goal of life. As stated in the Vedas, oṁ tad viṣṇoḥ paramaṁ padaṁ sadā paśyanti sūrayaḥ: those who are spiritually advanced simply look to the lotus feet of Viṣṇu. The conditioned soul, however, not being interested in reviving his relationship with Viṣṇu, becomes captivated by material activities and remains in everlasting bondage, being misled by so-called leaders.
