Translation

Verder ben Ik het zaad dat alle vormen van bestaan verwekt, o Arjuna. Er is geen wezen — of het nu in staat is te bewegen of niet — dat zonder Mij kan bestaan.

Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being – moving or nonmoving – that can exist without Me.

Purport

Alles heeft een oorzaak en die oorzaak of dat zaad waardoor iets zich manifesteert, is Kṛṣṇa. Zonder de energie van Kṛṣṇa kan niets bestaan; daarom wordt Hij alvermogend genoemd. Zonder Zijn vermogen kan zowel dat wat beweegt als het onbeweeglijke niet bestaan. Al het bestaande dat niet op de energie van Kṛṣṇa is gebaseerd, wordt māyā genoemd, ‘dat wat niet is’.

Everything has a cause, and that cause or seed of manifestation is Kṛṣṇa. Without Kṛṣṇa’s energy, nothing can exist; therefore He is called omnipotent. Without His potency, neither the movable nor the immovable can exist. Whatever existence is not founded on the energy of Kṛṣṇa is called māyā, “that which is not.”
