avācya-vādāṁś ca bahūn
vadiṣyanti tavāhitāḥ
nindantas tava sāmarthyaṁ
tato duḥkha-taraṁ nu kim

Tes ennemis te couvriront de propos outrageants et railleront ta valeur. Peut-il y avoir situation plus pénible pour toi ?

Deine Feinde werden schlecht über dich reden und deine Fähigkeit verspotten. Was könnte schmerzlicher für dich sein?

Purport

Kṛṣṇa a été très étonné des propos déplacés d’Arjuna en faveur de la clémence et lui a expliqué que ce genre de compassion ne convient nullement à un āryan. Preuves à l’appui, Il lui fait part de Ses convictions quant à cette prétendue générosité.

ERLÄUTERUNG: Zu Beginn war Śrī Kṛṣṇa über Arjunas unangebrachte Worte des Mitleids erstaunt gewesen, und Er sagte, sein Mitleid sei den Nicht-Āryas angemessen. Nun hat Er Seine Einwände gegen Arjunas sogenanntes Mitleid ausführlich erläutert.
