Traducción

Translation

El joven brāhmaṇa continuó: «Mi querido Señor, Tú eres muy misericordioso y lo sabes todo. Por eso Te pido que actúes como testigo en este asunto. Una persona que se niega a actuar como testigo pese a conocer la realidad de los hechos se implica en actividades pecaminosas».

The young brāhmaṇa continued, “My dear Sir, You are very merciful and You know everything. Therefore, kindly be a witness in this case. A person who knows things as they are and still does not bear witness becomes involved in sinful activities.”

Purport

Los tratos entre el devoto y el Señor son muy simples. El joven brāhmaṇa dijo al Señor: «Si Tú, que lo sabes todo, no actúas como testigo, Te enredarás en actividades pecaminosas». Sin embargo, no existe posibilidad alguna de que el Señor Se enrede en actividades pecaminosas. El devoto puro, aunque lo sabe todo acerca del Señor Supremo, puede hablar con el Señor como lo haría con un hombre común. Las relaciones entre el Señor y Su devoto son siempre muy simples y abiertas, pero, a pesar de ello, también hay formalidad. Todas esas cosas se deben a la relación que hay entre el Señor y el devoto.

The dealings between a devotee and the Lord are very simple. The young brāhmaṇa said to the Lord, “You know everything, but if You do not bear witness, You will be involved in sinful activities.” There is no possibility, however, of the Lord’s being involved in sinful activities. A pure devotee, even though he knows everything of the Supreme Lord, can speak with the Lord exactly as if He were a common man. Although the dealings between the Lord and His devotee are always very simple and open, there is formality. All these things happen because of the connection between the Lord and the devotee.
