As the Lord took His second step, He covered the heavenly planets. And not even a spot remained for the third step, for the Lord’s foot extended higher and higher, beyond Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka and even Satyaloka.
Quando deu o Seu segundo passo, o Senhor cobriu os planetas celestiais. E não restou lugar algum para o terceiro passo, pois o pé do Senhor estendeu-se a alturas cada vez mais elevadas, que ficavam além de Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka e até mesmo Satyaloka.

Comentário
When the Lord’s footstep exceeded the height of all the lokas, including Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka and Satyaloka, His nails certainly pierced the covering of the universe. The universe is covered by the five material elements (bhūmir āpo ’nalo vāyuḥ kham). As stated in the śāstra, these elements are in layers, each ten times thicker than the previous one. Nonetheless, the nails of the Lord pierced through all these layers and made a hole penetrating into the spiritual world. From this hole, the water of the Ganges infiltrated into this material world, and therefore it is said, pada-nakha-nīra janita jana-pāvana (Daśāvatāra-stotra 5). Because the Lord kicked a hole in the covering of the universe, the water of the Ganges came into this material world to deliver all the fallen souls.
SIGNIFICADO—Quando o passo do Senhor se elevou acima de todos os lokas, incluindo Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka e Satyaloka, Suas unhas decerto trespassaram a cobertura do universo. O universo é coberto pelos cinco elementos materiais (bhūmir āpo ’nalo vāyuḥ kham). Como se afirma nos śāstras, esses elementos se situam em camadas cada uma das quais é consecutivamente dez vezes mais espessa do que a anterior. Entretanto, as unhas do Senhor trespassaram todas essas camadas e fizeram um orifício que penetrou o mundo espiritual. A partir desse orifício, a água do Ganges se infiltrou neste mundo material, daí se afirmar que pada-nakha-nīra janita jana-pāvana (Daśāvatāra-stotra 5). Porque o Senhor abriu um orifício na cobertura do universo, a água do Ganges veio a este mundo material para libertar todas as almas caídas.
