तत्राहृतास्ता नरदेवकन्या:
कुजेन दृष्ट्वा हरिमार्तबन्धुम् ।
उत्थाय सद्यो जगृहु: प्रहर्ष-
व्रीडानुरागप्रहितावलोकै: ॥ ७ ॥

There in the house of the demon, all the princesses kidnapped by Narakāsura at once became alert upon seeing the Lord, the friend of the distressed. They looked upon Him with eagerness, joy and shyness and offered to be His wives.

Ali na casa do demônio, todas as princesas raptadas por Narakāsura ficaram imediatamente atentas ao verem ο Senhor, ο amigo dos aflitos. Elas olharam para Ele com avidez, alegria e acanhamento e se ofereceram para ser Suas esposas.

Comentário

Narakāsura kidnapped many daughters of great kings and kept them imprisoned in his palace. But when he was killed by the Lord and the Lord entered the house of the demon, all the princesses were enlivened with joy and offered to become His wives because the Lord is the only friend of the distressed. Unless the Lord accepted them, there would be no chance of their being married because the demon kidnapped them from their fathers’ custody and therefore no one would agree to marry them. According to Vedic society, girls are transferred from the custody of the father to the custody of the husband. Since these princesses had already been taken away from the custody of their fathers, it would have been difficult for them to have any husband other than the Lord Himself.

Narakāsura raptou muitas filhas de grandes reis e as manteve aprisionadas em seu palácio. Todavia, quando ο Senhor matou ο demônio e entrou na casa dele, todas as princesas se animaram, enchendo-se de alegria, e se ofereceram para se tornarem Suas esposas, visto que ο Senhor é ο único amigo dos aflitos. Se ο Senhor não as aceitasse, não haveria possibilidade de elas se casarem, pois ο demônio as raptara da custódia de seus pais, e, por isso, ninguém concordaria em se casar com elas. Segundo a sociedade védica, as moças são transferidas da custódia do pai para a custódia do esposo. Uma vez que estas princesas já tinham sido tiradas da custódia de seus pais, teria sido muito difícil que elas conseguissem algum outro esposo além do próprio Senhor.
