Now, fully desiring release from material life, I offer my respectful obeisances unto that Supreme Person who is the creator of the universe, who is Himself the form of the universe and who is nonetheless transcendental to this cosmic manifestation. He is the supreme knower of everything in this world, the Supersoul of the universe. He is the unborn, supremely situated Lord. I offer my respectful obeisances unto Him.

Portanto, desejando plenamente me libertar da vida material, ofe­reço minhas respeitosas reverências a essa Pessoa Suprema, que é o criador do universo, que é Ele próprio a forma do universo e que, não obstante, é transcendental a esta manifestação cósmica. Ele é o conhecedor supremo de todas as coisas deste mundo, a Superalma do universo. Ele é o Senhor não-nascido, cuja posição é suprema. Ofereço-Lhe minhas respeitosas reverências.

Comentário

Sometimes when bhakti-yoga, Kṛṣṇa consciousness, is preached to the common man, people argue, “Where is Kṛṣṇa? Where is God? Can you show Him to us?” In this verse the answer is given that if we are sufficiently intelligent, we must know that there is someone who has created the entire cosmic manifestation, who has supplied and has become the ingredients for this cosmic manifestation, who is eternally existing, but who is not within the cosmic manifestation. Simply on the basis of this suggestion, one can offer respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Lord. This is the beginning of devotional life.

SIGNIFICADO—Às vezes, quando se prega o bhakti-yoga, a consciência de Kṛṣṇa, ao homem comum, as pessoas contestam: “Onde está Kṛṣṇa? Onde está Deus? Você pode mostrá-lO a nós?” Neste verso, consta a seguinte resposta: se formos inteligentes o bastante, deveremos saber que existe alguém que criou toda a manifestação cósmica, que forneceu os ingredientes desta manifestação cósmica – tendo também se transformado neles –, que existe eternamente, mas que não está dentro da manifestação cósmica. Basta alguém se basear nesta pro­posição para que se sinta inclinado a oferecer respeitosas reverên­cias ao Senhor Supremo. Este é o começo da vida devocional.
