gāndhārīṁ droṇam eva ca
tulya-duḥkhau ca saṅgamya
hā kaṣṭam iti hocatuḥ

Translation

Tradução

The two Lords met with Bhīṣma, Kṛpa, Vidura, Gāndhārī and Droṇa. Showing sorrow equal to theirs, They cried out, “Alas, how painful this is!”

Os dois Senhores encontraram-Se com Bhīṣma, Kṛpa, Vidura, Gāndhārī e Droṇa. Mostrando pesar igual ao destes, Eles exclamaram: “Ai de nós! Quão doloroso é isto!”

Purport

Comentário

Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī points out that those who were involved in the assassination attempt were of course not at all sorry to hear of the Pāṇḍavas’ death. The persons specifically mentioned here, however — Bhīṣma, Kṛpa, Vidura, Gāndhārī and Droṇa — were actually unhappy to hear of the supposed tragedy.

SIGNIFICADO—Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī ressalta que aqueles que estavam envolvidos na tentativa de assassinato obviamente não ficaram nem um pouco tristes de ouvir falar da morte dos Pāṇḍavas. Todavia, as pessoas especificamente mencionadas aqui – Bhīṣma, Kṛpa, Vidura, Gāndhārī e Droṇa – ficaram de fato infelizes ao ouvirem sobre a suposta tragédia.
