Their heartache vanquished by the ecstasy of seeing Kṛṣṇa, the gopīs, like the personified Vedas before them, felt their desires completely fulfilled. For their dear friend Kṛṣṇa they arranged a seat with their shawls which were smeared with the kuṅkuma powder from their breasts.
Com sua angústia subjugada devido ao êxtase de ver Kṛṣṇa, as gopīs, tal qual os Vedas personificados no passado, sentiram seus desejos completamente satisfeitos. Para seu querido amigo Kṛṣṇa, elas providenciaram um assento com seus xales, que estavam manchados com o pó de kuṅkuma de seus seios.

Comentário
In the Eighty-seventh Chapter of this canto (text 23), the śrutis, or personified Vedas, pray as follows:
SIGNIFICADO—No octogésimo sétimo capítulo deste canto (verso 23), os śrutis, ou Vedas personificados, oram da seguinte maneira:
vayam api te samāḥ samadṛśo ’ṅghri-saroja-sudhāḥ
vayam api te samāḥ samadṛśo ’ṅghri-saroja-sudhāḥ
“These women fully absorbed their minds in meditation on Lord Kṛṣṇa’s powerful arms, which are like the bodies of great serpents. We want to become just like the gopīs and render service to His lotus feet.” The śrutis had seen Kṛṣṇa during His appearance in the previous day of Brahmā and had become full of the most intense desire to associate with Him. Then in this kalpa they became gopīs. And since the Vedas are eternal in human society, the śrutis in this kalpa also become full of desire for Kṛṣṇa and in the next kalpa will also become gopīs. This information is given by Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura.
“Essas mulheres absorveram suas mentes por completo em meditar nos braços poderosos do Senhor Kṛṣṇa, que são como os corpos de grandes serpentes. Queremos ser exatamente como as gopīs e prestar serviço a Seus pés de lótus.” Os śrutis haviam visto Kṛṣṇa durante Seu aparecimento no precedente dia de Brahmā e tinham ficado cheios do mais intenso desejo de se associar com Ele. Neste kalpa, então, eles se tornaram gopīs. E como os Vedas são eternos na sociedade humana, os śrutis neste kalpa também ficam cheios do desejo de se associarem com Kṛṣṇa e, no kalpa seguinte, também se tornam gopīs.
