dekhi’ — seeing; trāsa — an atmosphere of fear; upajila — grew; saba bhakta-gaṇe — among all the devotees; svapne-ha — even in dreams; chāḍila — gave up; sabe — all; strī-sambhāṣaṇe — talk with women.

dekhi' — když to viděli; trāsa — strach; upajila — rostl; saba bhakta-gaṇe — mezi všemi oddanými; svapne-ha — dokonce i ve snu; chāḍila — zanechali; sabe — všichni; strī-sambhāṣaṇe — mluvení se ženami.

After all the devotees saw this example, a mentality of fear grew among them. Therefore they all stopped talking with women, even in dreams.

Mezi oddanými zavládl strach, když to celé viděli, a přestali tedy mluvit se ženami dokonce i ve snech.

Purport

Význam

In connection with strī-sambhāsaṇa, talking with women, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura says that talking with women for the purpose of mingling with them for sense gratification, subtle or gross, is strictly prohibited. Cāṇakya Paṇḍita, the great moral instructor, says, mātṛ-vat para-dāreṣu. Thus not only a person in the renounced order or one engaged in devotional service but everyone should avoid mingling with women. One should consider another’s wife his mother.

Velký učitel morálky Cāṇakya Paṇḍita říká: mātṛ-vat para-dāreṣu. Sdružování se ženami by se tedy měl vyhýbat nejen ten, kdo je ve stavu odříkání nebo kdo koná oddanou službu, ale každý. Manželku někoho jiného musíme považovat za svou matku.
