bhayād raṇād uparataṁ
maṁsyante tvāṁ mahā-rathāḥ
yeṣāṁ ca tvaṁ bahu-mato
bhūtvā yāsyasi lāghavam
bhayād raṇād uparataṁ

Translation

Os grandes generais que têm na mais alta estima o seu nome e fama pensarão que você deixou o campo de batalha simplesmente porque estava com medo, e portanto irão considerá-lo insignificante.

The great generals who have highly esteemed your name and fame will think that you have left the battlefield out of fear only, and thus they will consider you insignificant.

Purport

O Senhor Kṛṣṇa continuou a dar Seu veredicto a Arjuna: “Não fique pensando que os grandes generais como Duryodhana, Karṇa e outros contemporâneos acharão que você deixou o campo de batalha porque sentia compaixão por seus irmãos e avô. Pensarão que você desistiu porque temia perder sua vida. E assim a alta estima que dedicavam à sua personalidade se esvanecerá”.

Lord Kṛṣṇa continued to give His verdict to Arjuna: “Do not think that the great generals like Duryodhana, Karṇa and other contemporaries will think that you have left the battlefield out of compassion for your brothers and grandfather. They will think that you have left out of fear for your life. And thus their high estimation of your personality will go to hell.”
