mayy āveśya mano ye māṁ
nitya-yuktā upāsate
śraddhayā parayopetās
te me yukta-tamā matāḥ

Translation

De Allerhoogste Persoonlijkheid Gods zei: Zij die hun geest op Mijn persoonlijke gedaante concentreren en Me altijd vol transcendentaal vertrouwen vereren, beschouw Ik als het volmaaktst.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Those who fix their minds on My personal form and are always engaged in worshiping Me with great and transcendental faith are considered by Me to be most perfect.

Als antwoord op de vraag van Arjuna zegt Kṛṣṇa duidelijk dat degene die zich op Zijn persoonlijke gedaante concentreert en Hem met vertrouwen en devotie vereert, beschouwd moet worden als het volmaaktst in yoga. Voor zo’n Kṛṣṇa-bewust persoon bestaan er geen materiële activiteiten, omdat hij alles voor Kṛṣṇa doet.

Een zuivere toegewijde is altijd bezig. Soms chant hij, soms luistert hij of leest hij boeken over Kṛṣṇa, soms kookt hij prasāda of gaat hij naar de markt om iets voor Kṛṣṇa te kopen, en soms maakt hij de tempel schoon of doet hij de afwas; wat hij ook doet, hij laat geen moment voorbijgaan zonder zijn activiteiten aan Kṛṣṇa te wijden. Zulke activiteiten worden in volledige samādhi gedaan.

In answer to Arjuna’s question, Kṛṣṇa clearly says that he who concentrates upon His personal form and who worships Him with faith and devotion is to be considered most perfect in yoga. For one in such Kṛṣṇa consciousness there are no material activities, because everything is done for Kṛṣṇa. A pure devotee is constantly engaged. Sometimes he chants, sometimes he hears or reads books about Kṛṣṇa, or sometimes he cooks prasādam or goes to the marketplace to purchase something for Kṛṣṇa, or sometimes he washes the temple or the dishes – whatever he does, he does not let a single moment pass without devoting his activities to Kṛṣṇa. Such action is in full samādhi.
