샤리라-반-마노비럇 śarīra-vāṅ-manobhir yat
까르마 쁘라라바떼 나라하 karma prārabhate naraḥ
냐이얌 바 비빠리땀 바 nyāyyaṁ vā viparītaṁ vā

Translation

옳든 그르든 인간이 몸과 마음 혹은 말로 행하는 모든 것은 이 다섯 가지 요소에 의해 초래된다.

Whatever right or wrong action a man performs by body, mind or speech is caused by these five factors.

주석

Purport

“옳다”, “그르다”라는 말이 이 절에서 아주 중요하다. 옳은 일은 경전들에 규정된 지시에 따라 행하는 일이며, 그른 일은 경전적 지시 사항에 어긋나는 일이다. 그러나 어떠한 일을 하든 그 일을 완성하려면 이 다섯 가지 요소가 필요하다.

The words “right” and “wrong” are very significant in this verse. Right work is work done in terms of the prescribed directions in the scriptures, and wrong work is work done against the principles of the scriptural injunctions. But whatever is done requires these five factors for its complete performance.
