tasmā adād dhariś cakraṁ
pratyanīka-bhayāvaham
ekānta-bhakti-bhāvena

Translation

Muy complacido con la devoción pura de Mahārāja Ambarīṣa, la Suprema Personalidad de Dios dio al rey Su disco, que causa temor a los enemigos y siempre protege al devoto de enemigos y adversidades.

Being very pleased by the unalloyed devotion of Mahārāja Ambarīṣa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead gave the King His disc, which is fearful to enemies and which always protects the devotee from enemies and adversities.

Purport

Es probable que el devoto, que siempre está ocupado en el servicio del Señor, no sea muy experto en defenderse; pero, como depende por entero de los pies de loto de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, siempre está seguro de que el Señor le protegerá. Prahlāda Mahārāja dijo:

A devotee, being always engaged in the service of the Lord, may not be expert in self-defense, but because a devotee fully depends on the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he is always sure of protection by the Lord. Prahlāda Mahārāja said:

naivodvije para duratyaya-vaitaraṇyās
tvad-vīrya-gāyana-mahāmṛta-magna-cittaḥ

(Bhāg. 7.9.43)

El devoto está siempre sumergido en el océano de la bienaventuranza trascendental del servicio que ofrece al Señor, y, debido a ello, ninguna situación adversa del mundo material le causa el menor temor. El Señor promete además: kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśyati: «¡Oh, Arjuna!, puedes declarar al mundo que los devotos del Señor nunca son vencidos» (Bg. 9.31). El disco de Kṛṣṇa, el cakra Sudarśana, siempre está preparado para proteger a los devotos. Ese disco causa un enorme terror a los no devotos (pratyanīka-bhayāvaham). Por lo tanto, aunque Mahārāja Ambarīṣa estaba dedicado por entero al servicio devocional, su reino estaba completamente libre del temor a la adversidad.

A devotee is always merged in the ocean of the transcendental bliss of rendering service to the Lord. Therefore he is not at all afraid of any adverse situation in the material world. The Lord also promises, kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśyati: “O Arjuna, you may declare to the world that the devotees of the Lord are never vanquished.” (Bg. 9.31) For the protection of the devotees, Kṛṣṇa’s disc, the Sudarśana cakra, is always ready. This disc is extremely fearful to the nondevotees (pratyanīka-bhayāvaham). Therefore although Mahārāja Ambarīṣa was fully engaged in devotional service, his kingdom was free of all fear of adversity.
