tavaiṣa bhṛgu-nandanaḥ

Translation

Sin embargo, Sukānya, muy orgullosa de su castidad, respondió a los reproches de su padre con una sonrisa y le dijo: «Mi querido padre, este joven que está a mi lado es en realidad tu yerno, el gran sabio Cyavana, que nació en la familia de Bhṛgu».

Sukanyā, however, being very proud of her chastity, smiled upon hearing the rebukes of her father. She smilingly told him, “My dear father, this young man by my side is your actual son-in-law, the great sage Cyavana, who was born in the family of Bhṛgu.”

Purport

El padre riñó a la hija porque pensaba que había aceptado otro esposo, pero la hija sabía que era completamente casta y honesta, de modo que se mostraba sonriente. Cuando le explicó que su marido, Cyavana Muni, se había transformado en un joven, se sintió muy orgullosa de su castidad, y eso la hacía sonreír mientras hablaba con su padre.

Although the father chastised the daughter, assuming that she had accepted another husband, the daughter knew that she was completely honest and chaste, and therefore she was smiling. When she explained that her husband, Cyavana Muni, had now been transformed into a young man, she was very proud of her chastity, and thus she smiled as she talked with her father.
