Traducción

Translation

Aquel pecador, Ajāmila, pronunció el nombre de Nārāyaṇa, y tan pronto como lo hizo, llegaron esos cuatro hermosos hombres y le tranquilizaron diciendo: «No temas, no temas». Deseamos que Tu Señoría nos hable de ellos. Si nos consideras capaces de entenderlo, por favor, explícanos quiénes son.

As soon as the sinful Ajāmila uttered the name Nārāyaṇa, these four beautiful men immediately arrived and reassured him, saying, “Do not fear. Do not fear.” We wish to know about them from Your Lordship. If you think we are able to understand them, kindly describe who they are.

Purport

Los mensajeros de Yamarāja, muy afligidos por su derrota ante los cuatro viṣṇudūtas, querían llevarles ante Yamarāja y, si era posible, castigarles. En caso contrario, preferían suicidarse. Sin embargo, antes de tomar ninguna medida, querían que Yamarāja, que también es omnisciente, les hablase de los viṣṇudūtas.

The order carriers of Yamarāja, being very much aggrieved because of their defeat by the four Viṣṇudūtas, wanted to bring them before Yamarāja and, if possible, punish them. Otherwise they desired to commit suicide. Before pursuing either course, however, they wanted to know about the Viṣṇudūtas from Yamarāja, who is also omniscient.
