Traducción

Translation

El brāhmaṇa Ajāmila cayó víctima de la lujuriosa mirada de la prostituta, que le atravesó la inteligencia, y en su compañía cometió muchas actividades pecaminosas. Llegó hasta al extremo de dejar a su joven y bella esposa, que venía de una familia de brāhmaṇas muy respetable.

Because his intelligence was pierced by the lustful glance of the prostitute, the victimized brāhmaṇa Ajāmila engaged in sinful acts in her association. He even gave up the company of his very beautiful young wife, who came from a very respectable brāhmaṇa family.

Significado

Purport

Es costumbre que los hijos hereden las propiedades y el dinero de su padre, y ese fue el caso de Ajāmila. Pero, ¿qué hizo con ese dinero? En lugar de emplearlo en servir a Kṛṣṇa, lo gastó en servir a una prostituta. Por lo tanto, merecía ser condenado y sufrir el castigo de Yamarāja. ¿Cómo le pudo ocurrir esto? Fue víctima de la peligrosa mirada lasciva de la prostituta.

Customarily everyone is eligible to inherit his father’s property, and Ajāmila also inherited the money of his father. But what did he do with the money? Instead of engaging the money in the service of Kṛṣṇa, he engaged it in the service of a prostitute. Therefore he was condemned and was punishable by Yamarāja. How did this happen? He was victimized by the dangerous lustful glance of a prostitute.
