dvāraṁ nirudhyāsum ananyayā dhiyā
lokā nirucchvāsa-nipīḍitā bhṛśaṁ
sa-loka-pālāḥ śaraṇaṁ yayur harim

Translation

Cuando el peso de Dhruva Mahārāja, debido a que estaba completamente concentrado y había cerrado todos los agujeros de su cuerpo, se unificó prácticamente con el peso del Señor Viṣṇu, que es la conciencia total, el universo entero quedó sin respiración, y todos los grandes semidioses de todos los sistemas planetarios, sintiendo que se asfixiaban, buscaron refugio en la Suprema Personalidad de Dios.

When Dhruva Mahārāja became practically one in heaviness with Lord Viṣṇu, the total consciousness, due to his fully concentrating and his closing all the holes of his body, the total universal breathing became choked up, and all the great demigods in all the planetary systems felt suffocated and thus took shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Cada uno de los cientos de pasajeros de un avión, aunque es una unidad individual, participa de la fuerza total del avión, que vuela a más de mil kilómetros por hora; de manera similar, una unidad de energía, cuando se identifica con el servicio a la energía total, tiene tanto poder como la energía total. Como se explicó en el verso anterior, Dhruva Mahārāja, debido a su avance espiritual, llegó a tener prácticamente el mismo peso que el todo, de manera que el planeta entero cedía cuando él hacía presión. Además, debido a ese poder espiritual, la unidad constituida por su cuerpo llegó a ser el cuerpo total del universo; de modo que cuando cerró los agujeros de esa unidad constituida por su cuerpo, todas las unidades del universo —es decir, todas las entidades vivientes, y entre ellas los grandes semidioses— sintieron la angustia de la asfixia, como si se estuviesen quedando sin respiración. Por esa razón, todos ellos buscaron refugio en la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, pues lo que había ocurrido les llenaba de perplejidad.

When hundreds of persons are sitting in an airplane, although they remain individual units they each share in the total force of the airplane, which runs at thousands of miles per hour. Similarly, when unit energy is identified with the service of the total energy, the unit energy becomes as powerful as the total energy. As explained in the previous verse, Dhruva Mahārāja, because of his spiritual advancement, became almost the total heaviness, and thus he pressed down the whole earth. Moreover, by such spiritual power his unit body became the total body of the universe. Thus when he closed the holes of his unit body to firmly concentrate his mind on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, all the units of the universe — namely all the living entities, including the big demigods — felt the pressure of suffocation, as if their breathing were being choked. Therefore they all took shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead because they were perplexed as to what had happened.

El hecho de que Dhruva Mahārāja cerrase los orificios respiratorios de todo el universo al cerrar los agujeros de su propio cuerpo, es un claro ejemplo de que el devoto, con su propio servicio devocional, puede influir en todas las personas del mundo y hacer que se vuelvan devotas del Señor. Un solo devoto, si es puro en su conciencia de Kṛṣṇa, puede hacer que la conciencia total del mundo se convierta en conciencia de Kṛṣṇa. This example of Dhruva Mahārāja’s closing the holes of his personal body and thereby closing the breathing holes of the total universe clearly indicates that a devotee, by his personal devotional service, can influence all the people of the whole world to become devotees of the Lord. lf there is only one pure devotee in pure Kṛṣṇa consciousness, he can change the total consciousness of the world into Kṛṣṇa consciousness. This is not very difficult to understand if we study the behavior of Dhruva Mahārāja.
