Translation

Brahmā alabó entonces a las nueve hijas de Kardama Muni diciendo: «Todas tus hijas, de delgada cintura, son ciertamente muy castas. Estoy seguro de que harán que esta creación aumente de diversas maneras por medio de sus descendientes.

Lord Brahmā then praised Kardama Muni’s nine daughters, saying: All your thin-waisted daughters are certainly very chaste. I am sure they will increase this creation by their own descendants in various ways.

Al principio de la creación, Brahmā estaba más o menos preocupado por hacer que la población aumentase, y cuando vio que Kardama Muni ya había engendrado nueve hermosas hijas, tenía la esperanza de que por medio de ellas vendrían muchos hijos que se encargarían del principio creativo del mundo material. Por consiguiente, estaba feliz de verlas. La palabra sumadhyamā significa «una buena hija de una mujer hermosa». A una mujer, si tiene la cintura delgada, se la considera muy hermosa. Todas las hijas de Kardama Muni tenían la misma hermosa presencia.

In the beginning of creation, Brahmā was concerned more or less with increasing the population, and when he saw that Kardama Muni had already begotten nine nice daughters, he was hopeful that through the daughters many children would come who would take charge of the creative principle of the material world. He was therefore happy to see them. The word sumadhyamā means “a good daughter of a beautiful woman.” If she has a thin waist, a woman is considered very beautiful. All the daughters of Kardama Muni were of the same beautiful feature.
