The Process of Creation

Text 1:: Sūta Gosvāmī dijo: Mahārāja Parīkṣit, el hijo de Uttarā, después de oír los discursos de Śukadeva Gosvāmī, que estaban todos relacionados con la verdad acerca del ser, aplicó su concentración fielmente sobre el Señor Kṛṣṇa.

Text 1:: Sūta Gosvāmī said: Mahārāja Parīkṣit, the son of Uttarā, after hearing the speeches of Śukadeva Gosvāmī, which were all about the truth of the self, applied his concentration faithfully upon Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Text 2:: Mahārāja Parīkṣit, como resultado de su sincera atracción por el Señor Kṛṣṇa, fue capaz de renunciar a todo el afecto profundamente arraigado que sentía por su propio cuerpo, por su esposa, por sus hijos, por su palacio, por sus animales —animales tales como caballos y elefantes—, por su tesorería, por sus amigos y parientes, y por su reino indisputable.

Text 2:: Mahārāja Parīkṣit, as a result of his wholehearted attraction for Lord Kṛṣṇa, was able to give up all deep-rooted affection for his personal body, his wife, his children, his palace, his animals like horses and elephants, his treasury house, his friends and relatives, and his undisputed kingdom.

Texts 3-4:: ¡Oh, grandes sabios!, la gran alma Mahārāja Parīkṣit, constantemente absorto en pensamientos acerca del Señor Kṛṣṇa y sabiendo bien de su muerte inminente, renunció a toda clase de actividades fruitivas, es decir, a los actos de la religión, el desarrollo económico y la complacencia de los sentidos, y de ese modo se estableció firmemente en el plano de su amor natural por Kṛṣṇa e hizo todas estas preguntas, tal como ustedes me las están haciendo a mí.

Texts 3-4:: O great sages, the great soul Mahārāja Parīkṣit, constantly rapt in thought of Lord Kṛṣṇa, knowing well of his imminent death, renounced all sorts of fruitive activities, namely acts of religion, economic development and sense gratification, and thus fixed himself firmly in his natural love for Kṛṣṇa and asked all these questions, exactly as you are asking me.

Text 5:: Mahārāja Parīkṣit dijo: ¡Oh, erudito brāhmaṇa!, tú lo sabes todo, porque te encuentras sin contaminación material. Por lo tanto, todo lo que me has hablado parece estar muy en lo correcto. Tus discursos están destruyendo gradualmente la oscuridad de mi ignorancia, ya que estás narrando los temas acerca del Señor.

Text 5:: Mahārāja Parīkṣit said: O learned brāhmaṇa, you know everything because you are without material contamination. Therefore whatever you have spoken to me appears perfectly right. Your speeches are gradually destroying the darkness of my ignorance, for you are narrating the topics of the Lord.

Text 6:: Te pido que me des a conocer cómo la Personalidad de Dios, mediante Sus energías personales, crea estos universos fenoménicos tal como son, los cuales les resultan inconcebibles incluso a los grandes semidioses.

Text 6:: I beg to know from you how the Personality of Godhead, by His personal energies, creates these phenomenal universes as they are, which are inconceivable even to the great demigods.

Text 7:: Ten la bondad de describir cómo el Señor Supremo, quien es todopoderoso, ocupa a Sus diferentes energías y diferentes expansiones en mantener y de nuevo acabar con el mundo fenoménico, con el espíritu deportivo de un jugador.

Text 7:: Kindly describe how the Supreme Lord, who is all-powerful, engages His different energies and different expansions in maintaining and again winding up the phenomenal world in the sporting spirit of a player.

Text 8:: ¡Oh, erudito brāhmaṇa!, todas las actividades trascendentales del Señor son maravillosas, y parecen inconcebibles, porque hasta los grandes esfuerzos que han hecho muchos eruditos entendidos, aún han demostrado ser insuficientes para entenderlas.

Text 8:: O learned brāhmaṇa, the transcendental activities of the Lord are all wonderful, and they appear inconceivable because even great endeavors by many learned scholars have still proved insufficient for understanding them.

Text 9:: La Suprema Personalidad de Dios es uno, ya sea que Él actúe a solas con las modalidades de la naturaleza material, o que se expanda simultáneamente en muchas formas, o que se expanda consecutivamente para dirigir las modalidades de la naturaleza.

Text 9:: The Supreme Personality of Godhead is one, whether He alone acts with the modes of material nature, or simultaneously expands in many forms, or expands consecutively to direct the modes of nature.

Text 10:: Ten la bondad de aclarar todas estas preguntas producto de la duda, pues tú no solo eres sumamente entendido en las Escrituras védicas y autorrealizado en la trascendencia, sino que también eres un gran devoto del Señor, y, por lo tanto, eres prácticamente igual que la Personalidad de Dios.

Text 10:: Kindly clear up all these doubtful inquiries, because you are not only vastly learned in the Vedic literatures and self-realized in transcendence, but are also a great devotee of the Lord and are therefore as good as the Personality of Godhead.

Text 11:: Sūta Gosvāmī dijo: Cuando de ese modo el rey le solicitó a Śukadeva Gosvāmī que describiera la energía creativa de la Personalidad de Dios, él recordó entonces sistemáticamente al amo de los sentidos [Śrī Kṛṣṇa], y, para responder debidamente, habló de la siguiente manera.

Text 11:: Sūta Gosvāmī said: When Śukadeva Gosvāmī was thus requested by the King to describe the creative energy of the Personality of Godhead, he then systematically remembered the master of the senses [Śrī Kṛṣṇa], and to reply properly he spoke thus.

Text 12:: Śukadeva Gosvāmī dijo: Permítaseme ofrecerle mis respetuosas reverencias a la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, quien, para la creación del mundo material, adopta las tres modalidades de la naturaleza. Él es el todo completo que reside dentro del cuerpo de todos, y Sus caminos son inconcebibles.

Text 12:: Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who, for the creation of the material world, accepts the three modes of nature. He is the complete whole residing within the body of everyone, and His ways are inconceivable.

Text 13:: Le ofrezco de nuevo mis respetuosas reverencias a la forma completa de la existencia y la trascendencia, quien libera de todas las aflicciones a los devotos piadosos, y quien es el destructor de los subsiguientes adelantos que pudiera haber en el temperamento ateo de los demonios no devotos. A los trascendentalistas que están situados en el plano de la máxima perfección espiritual, Él les otorga sus destinos específicos.

Text 13:: I again offer my respectful obeisances unto the form of complete existence and transcendence, who is the liberator of the pious devotees from all distresses and the destroyer of the further advances in atheistic temperament of the nondevotee-demons. For the transcendentalists who are situated in the topmost spiritual perfection, He grants their specific destinations.

Text 14:: Permítaseme ofrecerle mis respetuosas reverencias a Aquel que es el asociado de los miembros de la dinastía Yadu y que siempre es un problema para los no devotos. Él es el disfrutador supremo tanto del mundo material como del mundo espiritual, y sin embargo disfruta de Su propia morada en el cielo espiritual. No hay nadie que sea igual a Él, porque Su opulencia trascendental es inconmensurable.

Text 14:: Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto Him who is the associate of the members of the Yadu dynasty and who is always a problem for the nondevotees. He is the supreme enjoyer of both the material and spiritual worlds, yet He enjoys His own abode in the spiritual sky. There is no one equal to Him because His transcendental opulence is immeasurable.

Text 15:: Permítaseme ofrecerle mis respetuosas reverencias al supremamente auspicioso Señor Śrī Kṛṣṇa, pues glorificarlo, recordarlo, tener una audiencia con Él, orarle, oír hablar de Él y adorarlo pueden limpiar en el acto los efectos de todos los pecados del ejecutor.

Text 15:: Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the all-auspicious Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, about whom glorification, remembrances, audience, prayers, hearing and worship can at once cleanse the effects of all sins of the performer.

Text 16:: Permítaseme ofrecerle mis respetuosas reverencias una y otra vez al supremamente auspicioso Señor Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Por el simple hecho de entregarse a Sus pies de loto, la gente sumamente intelectual se libera de todos los apegos a la existencia presente y futura, y progresa hacia la existencia espiritual sin dificultad.

Text 16:: Let me offer my respectful obeisances again and again unto the all-auspicious Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa. The highly intellectual, simply by surrendering unto His lotus feet, are relieved of all attachments to present and future existences and without difficulty progress toward spiritual existence.

Text 17:: Permítaseme ofrecerle mis respetuosas reverencias al supremamente auspicioso Señor Śrī Kṛṣṇa una y otra vez, porque los grandes sabios eruditos, los grandes ejecutores de caridades, los grandes trabajadores distinguidos, los grandes filósofos y místicos, los grandes cantores de los himnos védicos y los grandes seguidores de los principios védicos no pueden conseguir ningún resultado provechoso, si no dedican esas grandes cualidades al servicio del Señor.

Text 17:: Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the all-auspicious Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa again and again because the great learned sages, the great performers of charity, the great workers of distinction, the great philosophers and mystics, the great chanters of the Vedic hymns and the great followers of Vedic principles cannot achieve any fruitful result without dedication of such great qualities to the service of the Lord.

Text 18:: Las razas kirāta, hūṇa, āndhra, pulinda, pulkaśa, ābhīra, śumbha, yavana, los miembros de las razas khasa e incluso otros adictos a actos pecaminosos, pueden purificarse si se refugian en los devotos del Señor, debido a que Él es el poder supremo. A Él le ofrezco mis respetuosas reverencias.

Text 18:: Kirāta, Hūṇa, Āndhra, Pulinda, Pulkaśa, Ābhīra, Śumbha, Yavana, members of the Khasa races and even others addicted to sinful acts can be purified by taking shelter of the devotees of the Lord, due to His being the supreme power. I beg to offer my respectful obeisances unto Him.

Text 19:: Él es la Superalma y el Señor Supremo de todas las almas autorrealizadas. Él es la personificación de los Vedas, de las Escrituras religiosas y de las austeridades. Él es adorado por el Señor Brahmā y por Śiva, y por todos aquellos que han trascendido todas las pretensiones. Siendo así reverenciado con respeto y veneración, que ese Absoluto Supremo se complazca conmigo.

Text 19:: He is the Supersoul and the Supreme Lord of all self-realized souls. He is the personification of the Vedas, religious scriptures and austerities. He is worshiped by Lord Brahmā and Śiva and all those who are transcendental to all pretensions. Being so revered with awe and veneration, may that Supreme Absolute be pleased with me.

Text 20:: Que el Señor Śrī Kṛṣṇa, quien es el venerable Señor de todos los devotos, el protector y la gloria de todos los reyes de la dinastía Yadu —tales como Andhaka y Vṛṣṇi—, el esposo de todas las diosas de la fortuna, el director de todos los sacrificios y, por ende, el líder de todas las entidades vivientes, el controlador de toda inteligencia, el propietario de todos los planetas, espirituales y materiales, y la encarnación suprema que hay en la Tierra (el supremo en absolutamente todo), que Él sea misericordioso conmigo.

Text 20:: May Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is the worshipable Lord of all devotees, the protector and glory of all the kings like Andhaka and Vṛṣṇi of the Yadu dynasty, the husband of all goddesses of fortune, the director of all sacrifices and therefore the leader of all living entities, the controller of all intelligence, the proprietor of all planets, spiritual and material, and the supreme incarnation on the earth (the supreme all in all), be merciful upon me.

Text 21:: La Personalidad de Dios Śrī Kṛṣṇa es quien da la liberación. Por el hecho de pensar en Sus pies de loto a cada segundo, siguiendo los pasos de las autoridades, el devoto en estado de trance puede ver a la Verdad Absoluta. Sin embargo, los eruditos especuladores mentales piensan en Él como se les antoja. Que el Señor se complazca conmigo.

Text 21:: It is the Personality of Godhead Śrī Kṛṣṇa who gives liberation. By thinking of His lotus feet at every second, following in the footsteps of authorities, the devotee in trance can see the Absolute Truth. The learned mental speculators, however, think of Him according to their whims. May the Lord be pleased with me.

Text 22:: Que el Señor, quien al principio de la creación amplificó desde dentro del corazón de Brahmā el conocimiento potente que hay en él, y lo inspiró dándole pleno conocimiento acerca de la creación y de Su propio Ser, y quien pareció haberse generado de la boca de Brahmā, que Él se complazca conmigo.

Text 22:: May the Lord, who in the beginning of the creation amplified the potent knowledge of Brahmā from within his heart and inspired him with full knowledge of creation and of His own Self, and who appeared to be generated from the mouth of Brahmā, be pleased with me.

Text 23:: Que la Personalidad de Dios, quien por el hecho de acostarse en el universo anima los cuerpos de los elementos creados materialmente, y quien en Su encarnación puruṣa hace que el ser viviente se someta a las dieciséis divisiones de las modalidades materiales que lo generan, que Él tenga la bondad de adornar mis declaraciones.

Text 23:: May the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who enlivens the materially created bodies of the elements by lying down within the universe, and who in His puruṣa incarnation causes the living being to be subjected to the sixteen divisions of material modes which are his generator, be pleased to decorate my statements.

Text 24:: Le ofrezco mis respetuosas reverencias a Śrīla Vyāsadeva, la encarnación de Vāsudeva que compiló las Escrituras védicas. Los devotos puros beben el nectáreo conocimiento trascendental que cae de la boca del Señor, la cual es como un loto.

Text 24:: I offer my respectful obeisances unto Śrīla Vyāsadeva, the incarnation of Vāsudeva who compiled the Vedic scriptures. The pure devotees drink up the nectarean transcendental knowledge dropping from the lotuslike mouth of the Lord.

Text 25:: Mi querido rey, Brahmā, el primogénito, al ser interrogado por Nārada, le informó de esta materia de un modo exacto, tal como se lo había hablado directamente el Señor a Su propio hijo, el cual estaba imbuido de conocimiento védico desde su mismo nacimiento.

Text 25:: My dear King, Brahmā, the firstborn, on being questioned by Nārada, exactly apprised him on this subject as it had been directly spoken by the Lord to His own son, who was impregnated with Vedic knowledge from his very birth.
