ambā vā hata-putrārtā
kva gatā ca tapasvinī

Traducción

Translation

Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira dijo: ¡Oh, personalidad divina!, no sé adónde han ido mis dos tíos. Ni tampoco puedo encontrar a mi asceta tía, que está desconsolada por la pérdida de todos sus hijos.

Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira said: O godly personality, I do not know where my two uncles have gone. Nor can I find my ascetic aunt who is griefstricken by the loss of all her sons.

Purport

Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, como una buena alma y devoto del Señor que era, siempre estuvo consciente de la gran pérdida que había sufrido su tía, y de los padecimientos de asceta de esta. A un asceta nunca lo perturban ninguna clase de sufrimientos, y eso lo vuelve fuerte y determinado en la senda del progreso espiritual. La reina Gāndhārī es un ejemplo típico de una asceta, por el maravilloso carácter que exhibió en muchas situaciones difíciles. Ella fue una mujer ideal como madre, esposa y asceta, y en la historia del mundo es muy difícil encontrar una mujer con un carácter como ese.

Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, as a good soul and devotee of the Lord, was always conscious of the great loss of his aunt and her sufferings as an ascetic. An ascetic is never disturbed by all kinds of sufferings, and that makes him strong and determined on the path of spiritual progress. Queen Gāndhārī is a typical example of an ascetic because of her marvelous character in many trying situations. She was an ideal woman as mother, wife and ascetic, and in the history of the world such character in a woman is rarely found.
