Translation

«Al ver las hormigas, el cazador las barrió cuidadosamente con un trozo de tela. Una vez despejado el suelo, se tendió para ofrecer reverencias.

“Seeing the ants, the hunter whisked them away with a piece of cloth. After thus clearing the ants from the ground, he fell down flat to offer his obeisances.

Significado

Purport

La palabra daṇḍa significa «vara», y vat significa «como». Para ofrecer reverencias al maestro espiritual, hay que tenderse por completo en el suelo, igual que un bastón cuando cae. Ése es el significado de la palabra daṇḍavat.

The word daṇḍa means “rod,” and vat means “like.” To offer obeisances to the spiritual master, one must fall flat exactly as a rod falls on the ground. This is the meaning of the word daṇḍavat.
