Translation

Lo que los Upaniṣads llaman el Brahman trascendental e impersonal es el reino de la refulgencia brillante de la misma Persona Suprema.

What the Upaniṣads call the transcendental, impersonal Brahman is the realm of the glowing effulgence of the same Supreme Person.

Purport

Tres mantras del Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad (2.2.9-11) informan sobre la refulgencia corporal de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios. Estos afirman:

Three mantras of the Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad (2.2.9-11) give information regarding the bodily effulgence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. They state:

hiraṇmaye pare kośe virajaṁ brahma niṣkalam
tac chubhraṁ jyotiṣāṁ jyotis tad yad ātma-vido viduḥ

na tatra sūryo bhāti na candra-tārakaṁ
nemā vidyuto bhānti kuto ’yam agniḥ
tam eva bhāntam anubhāti sarvaṁ
tasya bhāsā sarvam idaṁ vibhāti

brahmaivedam amṛtaṁ purastād brahma
paścād brahma dakṣiṇataś cottareṇa
adhaś cordhvaṁ ca prasṛtaṁ brahmai-
vedaṁ viśvam idaṁ variṣṭham

«En el reino espiritual, más allá de la cobertura material, está la refulgencia ilimitada, Brahman, que se encuentra libre de la contaminación material. Los trascendentalistas consideran que esa blanca y refulgente luz es la luz de todas las luces. Ese reino no precisa de la iluminación de los rayos del Sol ni del brillo de la Luna, ni del fuego ni la electricidad. En realidad, toda forma de iluminación en el mundo material es solamente un reflejo de aquella iluminación suprema. Ese Brahman está ante nosotros y detrás de nosotros, al norte, sur, este y oeste, y también encima y debajo. Dicho de otro modo, esa refulgencia suprema Brahman se extiende por ambos cielos, el material y el espiritual».

“In the spiritual realm, beyond the material covering, is the unlimited Brahman effulgence, which is free from material contamination. That effulgent white light is understood by transcendentalists to be the light of all lights. In that realm there is no need of sunshine, moonshine, fire or electricity for illumination. Indeed, whatever illumination appears in the material world is only a reflection of that supreme illumination. That Brahman is in front and in back, in the north, south, east and west, and also overhead and below. In other words, that supreme Brahman effulgence spreads throughout both the material and spiritual skies.”
