Translation

Después de oír la predicción de Nīlāmbara Cakravartī, Śacīmātā y Jagannātha Miśra celebraron con gran alegría el festival de concesión del nombre, invitando a todos los brāhmaṇas y a sus esposas.

After hearing Nīlāmbara Cakravartī’s prediction, Śacīmātā and Jagannātha Miśra observed the name-giving festival in great joy, inviting all the brāhmaṇas and their wives.

Significado

Purport

Es propio del sistema védico celebrar toda clase de festivales, que comprenden los del nacimiento, la boda, la concesión del nombre y el comienzo de la educación, y a ellos se invita de modo especial a los brāhmaṇas. En todo festival, ante todo deben servirse alimentos a los brāhmaṇas, y cuando éstos están satisfechos, bendicen el festival cantando mantras védicos o el mahā-mantra Hare Kṛṣṇa.

It is the Vedic system to observe all kinds of festivals, including birthday festivals, marriage festivals, name-giving festivals and festivals marking the beginning of education, by especially inviting brāhmaṇas. In every festival the brāhmaṇas are to be fed first, and when the brāhmaṇas are pleased they bless the festival by chanting Vedic mantras or the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra.
