Chapter Nine

El conocimiento más confidencial

The Most Confidential Knowledge

TEXT 1:
La Suprema Personalidad de Dios dijo: Mi querido Arjuna, como tú nunca Me envidias, te he de impartir ese conocimiento y esa comprensión que son de lo más confidenciales, con lo cual te verás liberado de los sufrimientos de la existencia material.
TEXT 1:
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear Arjuna, because you are never envious of Me, I shall impart to you this most confidential knowledge and realization, knowing which you shall be relieved of the miseries of material existence.
TEXT 2:
Este conocimiento es el rey de la educación y el más secreto de todos los secretos. Es el conocimiento más puro de todos, y como brinda una percepción directa del ser mediante la iluminación, es la perfección de la religión. Además, es eterno, y se practica con alegría.
TEXT 2:
This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed.
TEXT 3:
Aquellos que no son fieles en este servicio devocional no pueden alcanzarme, ¡oh, conquistador de los enemigos! Por lo tanto, ellos regresan al sendero del nacimiento y la muerte de este mundo material.
TEXT 3:
Those who are not faithful in this devotional service cannot attain Me, O conqueror of enemies. Therefore they return to the path of birth and death in this material world.
TEXT 4:
Yo, en Mi forma no manifestada, Me encuentro omnipresente en todo este universo. Todos los seres están en Mí, pero Yo no estoy en ellos.
TEXT 4:
By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them.
TEXT 5:
Y, sin embargo, todo lo creado no descansa en Mí. ¡He ahí mi opulencia mística! Aunque Yo soy el que mantiene a todas las entidades vivientes y aunque estoy en todas partes, Yo no soy parte de esta manifestación cósmica, pues Mi Ser es la fuente en sí de la creación.
TEXT 5:
And yet everything that is created does not rest in Me. Behold My mystic opulence! Although I am the maintainer of all living entities and although I am everywhere, I am not a part of this cosmic manifestation, for My Self is the very source of creation.
TEXT 6:
Has de saber que así como el poderoso viento, que sopla por doquier, siempre descansa en el cielo, así mismo todos los seres creados descansan en Mí.
TEXT 6:
Understand that as the mighty wind, blowing everywhere, rests always in the sky, all created beings rest in Me.
TEXT 7:
¡Oh, hijo de Kuntī!, al final del milenio, todas las manifestaciones materiales entran en Mi naturaleza, y al comienzo de otro milenio, mediante Mi potencia, Yo las creo de nuevo.
TEXT 7:
O son of Kuntī, at the end of the millennium all material manifestations enter into My nature, and at the beginning of another millennium, by My potency, I create them again.
TEXT 8:
Todo el orden cósmico está supeditado a Mí. Por Mi voluntad, se manifiesta automáticamente una y otra vez, y por Mi voluntad, al final es aniquilado.
TEXT 8:
The whole cosmic order is under Me. Under My will it is automatically manifested again and again, and under My will it is annihilated at the end.
TEXT 9:
¡Oh, Dhanañjaya!, todo este trabajo no puede atarme. Yo siempre estoy desapegado, situado como si fuera neutral.
TEXT 9:
O Dhanañjaya, all this work cannot bind Me. I am ever detached from all these material activities, seated as though neutral.
TEXT 10:
Esta naturaleza material, que es una de Mis energías, funciona bajo Mi dirección, ¡oh, hijo de Kuntī!, y produce a todos los seres móviles e inmóviles. Por orden suya, esta manifestación es creada y aniquilada una y otra vez.
TEXT 10:
This material nature, which is one of My energies, is working under My direction, O son of Kuntī, producing all moving and nonmoving beings. Under its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.
TEXT 11:
Los necios se burlan de Mí cuando desciendo con forma humana. Ellos no conocen Mi naturaleza trascendental como Señor Supremo de todo lo que existe.
TEXT 11:
Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature as the Supreme Lord of all that be.
TEXT 12:
Aquellos que están confundidos de ese modo son atraídos por opiniones ateas y demoníacas. En esa condición engañada, sus esperanzas de liberarse, sus actividades fruitivas y su cultivo de conocimiento se ven todos frustrados.
TEXT 12:
Those who are thus bewildered are attracted by demonic and atheistic views. In that deluded condition, their hopes for liberation, their fruitive activities, and their culture of knowledge are all defeated.
TEXT 13:
¡Oh, hijo de Pṛthā!, aquellos que no están engañados, las grandes almas, se hallan bajo la protección de la naturaleza divina. Ellos están plenamente dedicados al servicio devocional, porque saben que Yo soy la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, original e inagotable.
TEXT 13:
O son of Pṛthā, those who are not deluded, the great souls, are under the protection of the divine nature. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, original and inexhaustible.
TEXT 14:
Siempre cantando Mis glorias, esforzándose con gran determinación y postrándose ante Mí, estas grandes almas Me adoran perpetuamente con devoción.
TEXT 14:
Always chanting My glories, endeavoring with great determination, bowing down before Me, these great souls perpetually worship Me with devotion.
TEXT 15:
Otros, que hacen sacrificio mediante el cultivo de conocimiento, adoran al Señor Supremo como aquel que no tiene igual, como aquel que se ha diversificado en muchos, y como la forma universal.
TEXT 15:
Others, who engage in sacrifice by the cultivation of knowledge, worship the Supreme Lord as the one without a second, as diverse in many, and in the universal form.
TEXT 16:
Mas, Yo soy el ritual, el sacrificio, la ofrenda a los antepasados, la hierba medicinal y el canto trascendental. Yo soy la mantequilla, el fuego y la ofrenda.
TEXT 16:
But it is I who am the ritual, I the sacrifice, the offering to the ancestors, the healing herb, the transcendental chant. I am the butter and the fire and the offering.
TEXT 17:
Yo soy el padre de este universo, la madre, el sostén y el abuelo. Yo soy el objeto del conocimiento, el purificador y la sílaba oṁ. Yo también soy los Vedas Ṛg, Sāma y Yajur.
TEXT 17:
I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable oṁ. I am also the Ṛg, the Sāma and the Yajur Vedas.
TEXT 18:
Yo soy la meta, el sustentador, el amo, el testigo, la morada, el refugio y el amigo más querido. Yo soy la creación y la aniquilación, la base de todo, el lugar de descanso y la simiente eterna.
TEXT 18:
I am the goal, the sustainer, the master, the witness, the abode, the refuge and the most dear friend. I am the creation and the annihilation, the basis of everything, the resting place and the eternal seed.
TEXT 19:
¡Oh, Arjuna!, Yo doy calor, y retengo o envío la lluvia. Yo soy la inmortalidad, y también soy la personificación de la muerte. Tanto el espíritu como la materia están en Mí.
TEXT 19:
O Arjuna, I give heat, and I withhold and send forth the rain. I am immortality, and I am also death personified. Both spirit and matter are in Me.
TEXT 20:
Aquellos que estudian los Vedas y beben el jugo soma, buscando los planetas celestiales, Me adoran indirectamente. Al purificarse de las reacciones pecaminosas, ellos nacen en el piadoso y celestial planeta de Indra, donde disfrutan de deleites divinos.
TEXT 20:
Those who study the Vedas and drink the soma juice, seeking the heavenly planets, worship Me indirectly. Purified of sinful reactions, they take birth on the pious, heavenly planet of Indra, where they enjoy godly delights.
TEXT 21:
Después de que han disfrutado así de un inmenso placer celestial de los sentidos y los resultados de sus actividades piadosas se agotan, ellos regresan de nuevo a este planeta mortal. Así pues, aquellos que buscan el disfrute de los sentidos adhiriéndose para ello a los principios de los tres Vedas, consiguen únicamente el reiterado ciclo del nacimiento y la muerte.
TEXT 21:
When they have thus enjoyed vast heavenly sense pleasure and the results of their pious activities are exhausted, they return to this mortal planet again. Thus those who seek sense enjoyment by adhering to the principles of the three Vedas achieve only repeated birth and death.
TEXT 22:
Pero a aquellos que siempre Me adoran con una devoción exclusiva, meditando en Mi forma trascendental, Yo les llevo lo que les falta y les preservo lo que tienen.
TEXT 22:
But those who always worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form – to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have.
TEXT 23:
Aquellos que son devotos de otros dioses y que los adoran con fe, en realidad Me adoran únicamente a Mí, ¡oh, hijo de Kuntī!, pero lo hacen de un modo equivocado.
TEXT 23:
Those who are devotees of other gods and who worship them with faith actually worship only Me, O son of Kuntī, but they do so in a wrong way.
TEXT 24:
Yo soy el único disfrutador y amo de todos los sacrificios. Por consiguiente, aquellos que no reconocen Mi verdadera naturaleza trascendental, caen.
TEXT 24:
I am the only enjoyer and master of all sacrifices. Therefore, those who do not recognize My true transcendental nature fall down.
TEXT 25:
Aquellos que adoran a los semidioses, nacerán entre los semidioses; aquellos que adoran a los antepasados, irán a los antepasados; aquellos que adoran a los fantasmas y espíritus, nacerán entre esos seres; y aquellos que Me adoran a Mí, vivirán conmigo.
TEXT 25:
Those who worship the demigods will take birth among the demigods; those who worship the ancestors go to the ancestors; those who worship ghosts and spirits will take birth among such beings; and those who worship Me will live with Me.
TEXT 26:
Si alguien Me ofrece con amor y devoción una hoja, una flor, una fruta o agua, Yo la aceptaré.
TEXT 26:
If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it.
TEXT 27:
Todo lo que hagas, todo lo que comas, todo lo que ofrezcas o regales, y todas las austeridades que realizes, hazlo, ¡oh, hijo de Kuntī!, como una ofrenda a Mí.
TEXT 27:
Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform – do that, O son of Kuntī, as an offering to Me.
TEXT 28:
De ese modo te librarás del cautiverio del trabajo y sus resultados auspiciosos y desfavorables. Con la mente fija en Mí y siguiendo ese principio de renunciación, te liberarás y vendrás a Mí.
TEXT 28:
In this way you will be freed from bondage to work and its auspicious and inauspicious results. With your mind fixed on Me in this principle of renunciation, you will be liberated and come to Me.
TEXT 29:
Yo no envidio a nadie, ni soy parcial con nadie. Yo tengo la misma disposición para con todos. Pero todo el que Me presta servicio con devoción es un amigo y está en Mí, y Yo también soy un amigo para él.
TEXT 29:
I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him.
TEXT 30:

Incluso si alguien comete las acciones más abominables de todas, si está dedicado al servicio devocional se debe considerar que es un santo, porque está debidamente situado en su determinación.

 
TEXT 30:
Even if one commits the most abominable action, if he is engaged in devotional service he is to be considered saintly because he is properly situated in his determination.
TEXT 31:
Prontamente él se vuelve virtuoso y consigue una paz perdurable. ¡Oh, hijo de Kuntī!, declara osadamente que Mi devoto nunca perece.
TEXT 31:
He quickly becomes righteous and attains lasting peace. O son of Kuntī, declare it boldly that My devotee never perishes.
TEXT 32:
¡Oh, hijo de Pṛthā!, aquellos que se refugian en Mí, aunque sean de baja estirpe —las mujeres, los vaiśyas [los comerciantes] y los śūdras [los trabajadores]—, pueden dirigirse hacia el destino supremo.
TEXT 32:
O son of Pṛthā, those who take shelter in Me, though they be of lower birth – women, vaiśyas [merchants] and śūdras [workers] – can attain the supreme destination.
TEXT 33:
¡Cuánto más cierto no es esto en el caso de los virtuosos brāhmaṇas, de los devotos y también de los reyes santos! Así que, habiendo venido a este temporal y desolador mundo, dedícate a Mi amoroso servicio.
TEXT 33:
How much more this is so of the righteous brāhmaṇas, the devotees and the saintly kings. Therefore, having come to this temporary, miserable world, engage in loving service unto Me.
TEXT 34:
Siempre ocupa la mente en pensar en Mí, vuélvete devoto Mío, ofréceme reverencias y adórame a Mí. Estando completamente absorto en Mí, es seguro que vendrás a Mí.
TEXT 34:
Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me.
