The Ultimate Knowledge
So Vedānta means “the end of all knowledge, or veda.” that in this Kali-yuga people would not be able to study Vedānta-sūtra nicely on account of a lack of education Śrīla Prabhupāda: Once again, Vedānta means “the ultimate knowledge.” And what is that knowledge? That is the ultimate knowledge. But if you do not understand Kṛṣṇa, then where is your knowledge? Half-way knowledge is not knowledge. It must be complete knowledge.

Prabhupāda: No, because they have no knowledge. How we can enjoy life without knowledge? They also accept that for this comfortable situation they require knowledge---the engineering knowledge , this knowledge, that knowledge. But that knowledge is not sufficient. Ordinary knowledge obtained by a university education pertains only to matter, and it is not accepted here as knowledge. Knowledge means knowing the distinction between spirit and matter. In modern education there is no knowledge about spirit; they are simply taking care of the material elements Therefore academic knowledge is not complete.

In the material world there are so many gradations of education. Some people never finish grammar school or high school, whereas others go on and receive a university education But what is this rāja-vidyā, the king of education, the summum bonum of knowledge? Real knowledge is understanding what I am. Unless we come to the point of understanding what we are, we cannot attain real knowledge.

Vid means to know, knowledge. So Vedic literature means to receive knowledge, authoritative knowledge. Not false knowledge. False knowledge... There is difference between false knowledge and authoritative knowledge. more or less false knowledge. Not authoritative knowledge.
