tapasvinaḥ sac-carita-vratasya
antarjale vāri-cara-prasaṅgāt
pracyāvitaṁ brahma ciraṁ dhṛtaṁ yat

Traducción

Alas! While practicing austerity, even within the depths of the water, and while observing all the rules and regulations practiced by saintly persons, I lost the results of my long austerities simply by association with the sexual affairs of fish. Everyone should observe this falldown and learn from it.

¡Ay de mí!, pese a practicar austeridades, pese a sumergirme en las profundidades del río, y pese a seguir todas las reglas y regulaciones de las personas santas, he perdido los resultados de mis muchas austeridades por el simple hecho de contemplar la vida sexual de esos peces. Todo el mundo debe analizar esta caída y aprender de ella.
