Translation

Traducción

The chaste and very beautiful Sukanyā could not distinguish her husband from the two Aśvinī-kumāras, for they were equally beautiful. Not understanding who her real husband was, she took shelter of the Aśvinī-kumāras.

La muy casta y hermosa Sukanyā no pudo distinguir a su esposo de los dos Aśvinī-kumāras, pues los tres eran igual de hermosos. Sin saber quién era su verdadero esposo, se refugió en los Aśvinī-kumāras.

Purport

Significado

Sukanyā could have selected any one of them as her husband, for one could not distinguish among them, but because she was chaste, she took shelter of the Aśvinī-kumāras so that they could inform her who her actual husband was. A chaste woman will never accept any man other than her husband, even if there be someone equally as handsome and qualified.

Sukanyā pudo haber aceptado como esposo a cualquiera de los tres, pues no era posible distinguirles. Sin embargo, como era muy casta, se refugió en los Aśvinī-kumāras para que le informasen de cuál era su verdadero esposo. Una mujer casta nunca aceptaría a ningún hombre que no fuese su esposo, aunque hubiera otros tan hermosos y cualificados como él.
