Translation

Traducción

When the root of a tree is cut and the tree falls down, its branches and twigs automatically dry up. Similarly, when I have killed this diplomatic Viṣṇu, the demigods, for whom Lord Viṣṇu is the life and soul, will lose the source of their life and wither away.

Cuando se cortan las raices de un árbol, este cae, y sus ramas y hojas, de modo natural, se secan. De la misma manera, cuando yo haya matado a Viṣṇu, el conspirador, que es la vida y alma de los semidioses, estos se marchitarán, porque habrán perdido la misma fuente de su vida.

Significado

The difference between the demigods and the demons is here explained. The demigods always follow the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whereas the demons simply plan to disturb or kill Him. Nevertheless, sometimes the demons very much appreciate the full dependence of the demigods upon the mercy of the Lord. This is indirect glorification of the demigods by the demons.

En este verso queda explicada la diferencia entre los semidioses y los demonios. Los semidioses siempre siguen las instrucciones de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, mientras que los demonios se dedican a hacer planes para molestarle o matarle. Aun así, a veces los demonios saben reconocer el hecho de que los semidioses dependen por completo de la misericordia del Señor, con lo cual, y de manera indirecta, glorifican a los semidioses.
