Translation

Traducción

As a fire burns dry grass to ashes, so the holy name of the Lord, whether chanted knowingly or unknowingly, burns to ashes, without fail, all the reactions of one’s sinful activities.

Del mismo modo que el fuego reduce a cenizas la hierba seca, el santo nombre del Señor, tanto si se canta consciente como inconscientemente, reduce a cenizas, indefectiblemente, todas las reacciones de las actividades pecaminosas.

Purport

Significado

Fire will act, regardless of whether handled by an innocent child or by someone well aware of its power. For example, if a field of straw or dry grass is set afire, either by an elderly man who knows the power of fire or by a child who does not, the grass will be burned to ashes. Similarly, one may or may not know the power of chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, but if one chants the holy name he will become free from all sinful reactions.

El fuego siempre quema, sin considerar si quien lo enciende es un niño inocente o un adulto bien consciente de su poder. Si cualquiera de ellos, el adulto que sabe del fuego o el niño que nada sabe, incendia por ejemplo un campo de paja o de hierba seca, el resultado será el mismo: todo quedará reducido a cenizas. Del mismo modo, si cantamos el santo nombre nos liberaremos de todas las reacciones pecaminosas, tanto si conocemos el poder del mantra Hare Kṛṣṇa como si no.
