devānāṁ balam edhate
asurāṇāṁ ca rajasi
tamasy uddhava rakṣasām
эдхама̄не гун̣е саттве
дева̄на̄м̇ балам эдхате
асура̄н̣а̄м̇ ча раджаси
тамасй уддхава ракшаса̄м

edhamāne — when it is increasing; guṇe — the mode; sattve — of goodness; devānām — of the demigods; balam — the strength; edhate — increases; asurāṇām — of the enemies of the demigods; ca — and; rajasi — when the mode of passion increases; tamasi — when the mode of ignorance increases; uddhava — O Uddhava; rakṣasām — of the man-eating monsters.

эдхама̄не — когда усиливается; гун̣е — гуна; саттве — благости; дева̄на̄м — полубогов; балам — сила; эдхате — растет; асура̄н̣а̄м — врагов полубогов; ча — и; раджаси — когда усиливается гуна страсти; тамаси — когда усиливается гуна невежества; уддхава — о Уддхава; ракшаса̄м — людоедов.

Translation

Перевод

With the increase of the mode of goodness, the strength of the demigods similarly increases. When passion increases, the demoniac become strong. And with the rise of ignorance, O Uddhava, the strength of the most wicked increases.

Когда растет влияние гуны благости, увеличивается сила полубогов. С увеличением страсти силу получают демоны. Когда же, о Уддхава, усиливается гуна невежества, растет могущество самых злобных существ.
