tavāṅghri-reṇu-sparaśādhikāraḥ
yad-vāñchayā śrīr lalanācarat tapo
vihāya kāmān su-ciraṁ dhṛta-vratā

Translation

Traducción

Caitanya Mahāprabhu then said, “ ‘O Lord, we do not know how the serpent Kāliya attained such an opportunity to be touched by the dust of Your lotus feet. Even the goddess of fortune, for this end, performed austerities for centuries, giving up all other desires and observing austere vows. Indeed, we do not know how the serpent Kāliya got such an opportunity.’ ”

Caitanya Mahāprabhu dijo entonces: «“¡Oh, Señor!, la serpiente Kāliya ha sido tocada por el polvo de Tus pies de loto, y no sabemos cómo ha podido alcanzar esa gran bendición. Con ese mismo objetivo, la diosa de la fortuna realizó austeridades durante siglos, abandonando todos los demás deseos y siguiendo votos muy austeros. En verdad, no sabemos cómo ha podido recibir esa oportunidad la serpiente Kāliya”».
