जितात्मन: प्रशान्तस्य परमात्मा समाहित: ।
शीतोष्णसुखदु:खेषु तथा मानापमानयो: ॥ ७ ॥

paramātmā samāhitaḥ
śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkheṣu
tathā mānāpamānayoḥ

Tradução

For one who has conquered the mind, the Supersoul is already reached, for he has attained tranquillity. To such a man happiness and distress, heat and cold, honor and dishonor are all the same.

Quem conquistou a mente já alcançou a Superalma, pois vive com tranqüilidade. Para ele, felicidade e tristeza, calor e frio, honra e desonra são a mesma coisa.

Comentário

Actually, every living entity is intended to abide by the dictation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is seated in everyone’s heart as Paramātmā. When the mind is misled by the external, illusory energy, one becomes entangled in material activities. Therefore, as soon as one’s mind is controlled through one of the yoga systems, one should be considered to have already reached the destination. One has to abide by superior dictation. When one’s mind is fixed on the superior nature, he has no alternative but to follow the dictation of the Supreme. The mind must admit some superior dictation and follow it. The effect of controlling the mind is that one automatically follows the dictation of the Paramātmā, or Supersoul. Because this transcendental position is at once achieved by one who is in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, the devotee of the Lord is unaffected by the dualities of material existence, namely distress and happiness, cold and heat, etc. This state is practical samādhi, or absorption in the Supreme.

Na verdade, cada ser vivo é obrigado a acatar as ordens da Suprema Personalidade de Deus, que está situado no coração de todos como Paramātmā. Quando a mente se deixa arrastar pela energia externa e ilusória, a pessoa fica enredada em atividades materiais. Portanto, logo que a mente é controlada através de um dos sistemas de yoga, deve-se considerar que a pessoa já alcançou o seu destino. Todos devem acatar as ordens superiores. Quando a mente de alguém se fixa na natureza superior, tudo o que lhe resta é seguir as determinações impostas pelo Supremo. A mente deve aceitar e seguir a uma ordem superior. O efeito conseqüente do controle da mente, é o acatamento automática das ordens do Paramātmā, ou Superalma. Porque esta posição transcendental é de imediato atingida por alguém que esteja em consciência de Kṛṣṇa, o devoto do Senhor não é afetado pelas dualidades da existência material, a saber, tristeza e felicidade, frio e calor, etc. Este é o estado de samādhi vivido na prática, ou a absorção no Supremo.
