Tradução

That happiness which is derived from contact of the senses with their objects and which appears like nectar at first but poison at the end is said to be of the nature of passion.

A felicidade que deriva do contato dos sentidos com seus objetos e que parece néctar no começo mas no final é um veneno diz-se que é da natureza da paixão.

Comentário

A young man and a young woman meet, and the senses drive the young man to see her, to touch her and to have sexual intercourse. In the beginning this may be very pleasing to the senses, but at the end, or after some time, it becomes just like poison. They are separated or there is divorce, there is lamentation, there is sorrow, etc. Such happiness is always in the mode of passion. Happiness derived from a combination of the senses and the sense objects is always a cause of distress and should be avoided by all means.

Um rapaz se encontra com uma moça, e os sentidos impelem-no a vê-la, a tocá-la e a ter relação sexual com ela. No começo, isto pode ser muito agradável para os sentidos, mas no final, ou passado algum tempo, isto torna-se exatamente como veneno. Eles se separam ou pedem divórcio, e surge a lamentação, a dor, etc. Semelhante felicidade está sempre no modo da paixão. A felicidade derivada duma combinação dos sentidos e dos objetos dos sentidos é sempre uma causa de sofrimento e deve ser evitada a todo o custo.
