तत्रैवं सति कर्तारमात्मानं केवलं तु य: ।
पश्यत्यकृतबुद्धित्वान्न स पश्यति दुर्मति: ॥ १६ ॥

tatraivaṁ sati kartāram
ātmānaṁ kevalaṁ tu yaḥ
paśyaty akṛta-buddhitvān
na sa paśyati durmatiḥ
따뜨라이밤 사띠 까르따람 tatraivaṁ sati kartāram
아뜨마남 께발람 뚜 야하 ātmānaṁ kevalaṁ tu yaḥ
빠샤땨끄리따-붇디뜨반 paśyaty akṛta-buddhitvān
나 사 빠샤띠 두르마띠히 na sa paśyati durmatiḥ

Translation

번역

Therefore one who thinks himself the only doer, not considering the five factors, is certainly not very intelligent and cannot see things as they are.

그러므로 이 다섯 가지 요소를 고려하지 않고 자기가 유일한 행위자라고 생각하는 자는 어리석음이 틀림없고, 사물을 있는 그대로 볼 수 없느니라.

Purport

주석

A foolish person cannot understand that the Supersoul is sitting as a friend within and conducting his actions. Although the material causes are the place, the worker, the endeavor and the senses, the final cause is the Supreme, the Personality of Godhead. Therefore, one should see not only the four material causes but the supreme efficient cause as well. One who does not see the Supreme thinks himself to be the doer.

어리석은 자는 초영혼이 우리 안에 친구로서 함께하고 있으며, 우리의 행위를 주도하고 있다는 사실을 이해할 수 없다. 물질적 원인은 장소, 행위자, 노력, 그리고 감각이지만, 결정적인 원인은 절대자, 최고인격신이다. 따라서 우리는 네 가지 물질적 요소는 물론이고 최상의 동인(動因)도 보아야 한다. 이 절대자를 보지 못하는 자는 자기를 행위자로 생각한다.
