समं पश्यन्हि सर्वत्र समवस्थितमीश्वरम् ।
न हिनस्त्यात्मनात्मानं ततो याति परां गतिम् ॥ २९ ॥

samam — equally; paśyan — seeing; hi — certainly; sarvatra — everywhere; samavasthitam — equally situated; īśvaram — the Supersoul; na — does not; hinasti — degrade; ātmanā — by the mind; ātmānam — the soul; tataḥ — then; yāti — reaches; parām — the transcendental; gatim — destination.

samam — i lige høj grad; paśyan — idet han ser; hi — afgjort; sarvatra — overalt; samavasthitam — ligeligt situeret; īśvaram — Oversjælen; na — ikke; hinasti — han fornedrer; ātmanā — gennem sindet; ātmānam — sjælen; tataḥ — da; yāti — når han; parām — det transcendentale; gatim — bestemmelsessted.

Translation

One who sees the Supersoul equally present everywhere, in every living being, does not degrade himself by his mind. Thus he approaches the transcendental destination.

Den, der ser Oversjælen i samme grad til stede overalt i alle levende væsener, trækker ikke sig selv ned med sit sind. Således nærmer han sig det transcendentale mål.

Purport

The living entity, by accepting his material existence, has become situated differently than in his spiritual existence. But if one understands that the Supreme is situated in His Paramātmā manifestation everywhere, that is, if one can see the presence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in every living thing, he does not degrade himself by a destructive mentality, and he therefore gradually advances to the spiritual world. The mind is generally addicted to sense gratifying processes; but when the mind turns to the Supersoul, one becomes advanced in spiritual understanding.

FORKLARING: Ved at acceptere den materielle eksistens bliver det levende væsen anderledes situeret end i sin åndelige eksistens. Men hvis man forstår, at den Højeste befinder Sig overalt i Sin manifestation som Paramātmā, eller hvis man med andre ord kan se Guddommens Højeste Personligheds tilstedeværelse i alt levende, trækker man ikke sig selv ned med en destruktiv mentalitet, og som følge heraf gør man gradvist fremskridt mod den åndelige verden. Generelt er sindet forfaldent til forskellige former for sansetilfredsstillelse, men når sindet vender sig mod Oversjælen, bliver man avanceret i åndelig forståelse.
