The Opulence of the Absolute

TEXT 1:
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Listen again, O mighty-armed Arjuna. Because you are My dear friend, for your benefit I shall speak to you further, giving knowledge that is better than what I have already explained.
TEXT 1:
Верховний Бог-Особа сказав: Слухай же, о міцнорукий Арджуно. Я говоритиму далі, бо ти дорогий Мені друг. Для твоєї користі Я відкрию тобі знання, глибше від того, яке Я вже пояснив.
TEXT 2:
Neither the hosts of demigods nor the great sages know My origin or opulences, for, in every respect, I am the source of the demigods and sages.
TEXT 2:
Ні міріади напівбогів, ні великі мудреці не знають про Моє походження й щедроти, бо Я — першопричина напівбогів і мудреців з усякого погляду.
TEXT 3:
He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginningless, as the Supreme Lord of all the worlds – he only, undeluded among men, is freed from all sins.
TEXT 3:
Людину, яка знає Мене як ненародженого, як того, хто не має початку, як Верховного Володаря усіх світів, — лише таку людину, непідвладну ілюзії, Я звільняю від усіх гріхів.
TEXTS 4-5:
Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, control of the senses, control of the mind, happiness and distress, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, nonviolence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame and infamy – all these various qualities of living beings are created by Me alone.
TEXTS 4-5:
Інтелект, знання, свободу від сумнівів та ілюзій, прощення, правдивість, володіння своїми чуттями, приборкання розуму, щастя й нещастя, народження, смерть, страх, безстрашність, відмову від застосування насильства, врівноваженість, вдоволеність, аскетизм, милосердя, славу і ганьбу — всі ці різні якості й здібності живих істот створив саме Я.
TEXT 6:
The seven great sages and before them the four other great sages and the Manus [progenitors of mankind] come from Me, born from My mind, and all the living beings populating the various planets descend from them.
TEXT 6:
Семеро великих мудреців, і четверо інших великих мудреців перед ними, і всі Ману (прародителі людства) виходять з Мене, народжені з Мого розуму, а всі живі істоти, що населяють різні планети, походять від них.
TEXT 7:
One who is factually convinced of this opulence and mystic power of Mine engages in unalloyed devotional service; of this there is no doubt.
TEXT 7:
Якщо хтось воістину знає про всі Мої щедроти та містичні сили, він присвячує себе чистому відданому служінню, — це безсумнівно.
TEXT 8:
I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.
TEXT 8:
Я — джерело всіх духовних і матеріальних світів. Все витікає з Мене. Мудрий прекрасно знає про це й присвячує себе відданому служінню Мені, поклоняючись Мені всім серцем.
TEXT 9:
The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me.
TEXT 9:
Думки Моїх чистих відданих зосереджені на Мені; їхнє життя повністю присвячене служінню Мені, і вони відчувають вище задоволення та блаженство, завжди розмовляючи про Мене й освічуючи один одного.
TEXT 10:
To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.
TEXT 10:
Тим, хто постійно з любов’ю віддано служать Мені, Я даю істинний інтелект, за допомогою якого вони можуть прийти до Мене.
TEXT 11:
To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.
TEXT 11:
Виявляючи до них особливу милість, Я, що перебуваю в їхніх серцях, сяйним світочем знання розвіюю пітьму, яку породжує невігластво.
TEXTS 12-13:
Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest. All the great sages such as Nārada, Asita, Devala and Vyāsa confirm this truth about You, and now You Yourself are declaring it to me.
TEXTS 12-13:
Арджуна сказав: Ти — Верховний Бог-Особа, остаточний притулок, найчистіший, Абсолютна Істина, Ти — вічна, трансцендентна, первинна особа, ненароджений і найвеличніший. Усі великі мудреці: На̄рада, Асіта, Девала, Вйа̄са підтверджують цю істину про Тебе, а зараз Ти Сам сповіщаєш її мені.
TEXT 14:
O Kṛṣṇa, I totally accept as truth all that You have told me. Neither the demigods nor the demons, O Lord, can understand Your personality.
TEXT 14:
О Кр̣шн̣о, я приймаю за істину все, що Ти повідав мені. Ані напівбоги, ані демони, о Господи, не можуть усвідомити Твоєї Особи.
TEXT 15:
Indeed, You alone know Yourself by Your own internal potency, O Supreme Person, origin of all, Lord of all beings, God of gods, Lord of the universe!
TEXT 15:
Воістину, Ти один знаєш Себе, завдяки Своїй внутрішній силі, о Верховна Особо, першоджерело всього, Володарю всіх істот, Боже богів, Господь усесвіту!
TEXT 16:
Please tell me in detail of Your divine opulences by which You pervade all these worlds.
TEXT 16:
Будь ласка, розкажи мені в подробицях про Свої божественні щедроти, що ними Ти сповнюєш усі ці світи.
TEXT 17:
O Kṛṣṇa, O supreme mystic, how shall I constantly think of You, and how shall I know You? In what various forms are You to be remembered, O Supreme Personality of Godhead?
TEXT 17:
О Кр̣шн̣а, о вищий містику, як мені постійно думати про Тебе, і як мені пізнати Тебе? В якій з Твоїх різноманітних форм мені пам’ятати про Тебе, о Верховний Боже-Особистість?
TEXT 18:
O Janārdana, again please describe in detail the mystic power of Your opulences. I am never satiated in hearing about You, for the more I hear the more I want to taste the nectar of Your words.
TEXT 18:
О Джана̄рдана, будь ласка, розповідай далі у подробицях про Свою містичну могутність. Я не можу насититися, слухаючи про Тебе, і чим більше я чую, тим солодший мені нектар Твоїх слів.
TEXT 19:
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Yes, I will tell you of My splendorous manifestations, but only of those which are prominent, O Arjuna, for My opulence is limitless.
TEXT 19:
Верховний Бог-Особа сказав: Так, Я повідаю тобі про Свої дивовижні вияви, о Арджуна, але тільки про найбільш визначні, бо немає меж Моїм щедротам.
TEXT 20:
I am the Supersoul, O Arjuna, seated in the hearts of all living entities. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings.
TEXT 20:
Я — Наддуша, о Арджуна, яка перебуває в серцях всіх живих істот. Я — їхній початок, середина і кінець.
TEXT 21:
Of the Ādityas I am Viṣṇu, of lights I am the radiant sun, of the Maruts I am Marīci, and among the stars I am the moon.
TEXT 21:
З-посеред А̄дітй Я — Вішн̣у, із світил Я — сяйне Сонце, з Марут Я — Марı̄чі, і серед зірок Я — Місяць.
TEXT 22:
Of the Vedas I am the Sāma Veda; of the demigods I am Indra, the king of heaven; of the senses I am the mind; and in living beings I am the living force [consciousness].
TEXT 22:
З Вед Я — Са̄ма-Веда, з напівбогів Я — Індра, цар небес, із чуттів Я — розум, а в живих істотах Я — життєва сила (свідомість).
TEXT 23:
Of all the Rudras I am Lord Śiva, of the Yakṣas and Rākṣasas I am the Lord of wealth [Kuvera], of the Vasus I am fire [Agni], and of mountains I am Meru.
TEXT 23:
Із всіх Рудр Я — Господь Ш́іва, з-поміж йакш і ра̄кшасів Я — володар скарбів (Кувера), з-поміж Васу Я — вогонь (Аґні), й з-поміж гір Я — Меру.
TEXT 24:
Of priests, O Arjuna, know Me to be the chief, Bṛhaspati. Of generals I am Kārttikeya, and of bodies of water I am the ocean.
TEXT 24:
Знай, о Арджуно, що із жреців Я — головний жрець, Бр̣хаспаті. З полководців Я — Ка̄ртікейа, і серед водоймищ — Я океан.
TEXT 25:
Of the great sages I am Bhṛgu; of vibrations I am the transcendental oṁ. Of sacrifices I am the chanting of the holy names [japa], and of immovable things I am the Himālayas.
TEXT 25:
З-поміж великих мудреців Я — Бгр̣ґу, з вібрацій Я — трансцендентний склад ом̇, з жертвоприношень Я — оспівування святих імен (джапа), і з-поміж нерухомих об’єктів Я — Гімалаї.
TEXT 26:
Of all trees I am the banyan tree, and of the sages among the demigods I am Nārada. Of the Gandharvas I am Citraratha, and among perfected beings I am the sage Kapila.
TEXT 26:
Із всіх дерев Я — баньян, а з мудреців серед напівбогів Я — На̄рада. З Ґандгарв Я — Чітраратга, а серед досконалих істот Я — мудрець Капіла.
TEXT 27:
Of horses know Me to be Uccaiḥśravā, produced during the churning of the ocean for nectar. Of lordly elephants I am Airāvata, and among men I am the monarch.
TEXT 27:
Знай, що із коней Я — Уччаіх̣ш́рава̄, породжений тоді, коли заради божественного напою збивали океан. Серед шляхетних слонів Я — Аіра̄вата, а серед людей Я — цар.
TEXT 28:
Of weapons I am the thunderbolt; among cows I am the surabhi. Of causes for procreation I am Kandarpa, the god of love, and of serpents I am Vāsuki.
TEXT 28:
З усіх різновидів зброї Я — блискавка, серед корів Я — сурабгі. З причин породження потомства Я — Кандарпа, бог кохання, і із зміїв Я — Ва̄сукі.
TEXT 29:
Of the many-hooded Nāgas I am Ananta, and among the aquatics I am the demigod Varuṇa. Of departed ancestors I am Aryamā, and among the dispensers of law I am Yama, the lord of death.
TEXT 29:
З багатоголових На̄ґів Я — Ананта, і серед мешканців вод Я — напівбог Варун̣а. З відійшовших предків Я — Арйама̄, а серед законодавців Я — Йама, бог смерті.
TEXT 30:
Among the Daitya demons I am the devoted Prahlāda, among subduers I am time, among beasts I am the lion, and among birds I am Garuḍa.
TEXT 30:
З-поміж демонів Даітй Я — відданий Прахла̄да, з поневолювачів Я — час, і серед звірів Я — лев, а серед птахів Я — Ґаруд̣а.
TEXT 31:
Of purifiers I am the wind, of the wielders of weapons I am Rāma, of fishes I am the shark, and of flowing rivers I am the Ganges.
TEXT 31:
З тих, що очищують, Я — вітер, із тих, хто тримає зброю, Я — Ра̄ма, серед риб Я — акула, а з усіх рік — Ґанґа.
TEXT 32:
Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the middle, O Arjuna. Of all sciences I am the spiritual science of the self, and among logicians I am the conclusive truth.
TEXT 32:
Я — початок, кінець і середина всіх творінь, о Арджуно. З усіх різновидів знання Я — духовна наука про душу, а для логіків Я — остаточна істина.
TEXT 33:
Of letters I am the letter A, and among compound words I am the dual compound. I am also inexhaustible time, and of creators I am Brahmā.
TEXT 33:
З усіх літер Я — буква «А», серед усіх складних слів Я є двоскладове. Я також — невичерпний час, і серед творців Я — Брахма̄.
TEXT 34:
I am all-devouring death, and I am the generating principle of all that is yet to be. Among women I am fame, fortune, fine speech, memory, intelligence, steadfastness and patience.
TEXT 34:
Я — всепоглинаюча смерть, і Я — причина, яка породжує все, що має бути. Серед жінок Я — слава, процвітання, витончена мова, пам’ять, кмітливість, вірність і терпеливість.
TEXT 35:
Of the hymns in the Sāma Veda I am the Bṛhat-sāma, and of poetry I am the Gāyatrī. Of months I am Mārgaśīrṣa [November-December], and of seasons I am flower-bearing spring.
TEXT 35:
З гімнів Са̄ма Веди Я—Бр̣хат-са̄ма, в поезії Я — Ґа̄йатрı̄. З місяців Я — Ма̄рґаш́ı̄рша (листопад-грудень), і з пір року Я — квітуча весна.
TEXT 36:
I am also the gambling of cheats, and of the splendid I am the splendor. I am victory, I am adventure, and I am the strength of the strong.
TEXT 36:
Також з усіх шахрайств Я — азартна гра, і Я — блиск усієї розкоші. Я — перемога, Я — пригода, і Я — сила сильного.
TEXT 37:
Of the descendants of Vṛṣṇi I am Vāsudeva, and of the Pāṇḍavas I am Arjuna. Of the sages I am Vyāsa, and among great thinkers I am Uśanā.
TEXT 37:
З нащадків Вр̣шн̣і Я — Ва̄судева, з Па̄н̣д̣ав Я — Арджуна. З мудреців Я — Вйа̄са, і з-поміж великих мислителів — Уш́ана̄.
TEXT 38:
Among all means of suppressing lawlessness I am punishment, and of those who seek victory I am morality. Of secret things I am silence, and of the wise I am the wisdom.
TEXT 38:
Серед всіх засобів придушення беззаконня Я — кара, і Я — моральність тих, хто прагне перемоги, Я — безмовність тайни і Я — розсудливість та знання мудрих.
TEXT 39:
Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being – moving or nonmoving – that can exist without Me.
TEXT 39:
І ще, о Арджуно, Я є сім’ям, яке породжує все суще. Будь-що створене — рухоме й нерухоме — не може існувати без Мене.
TEXT 40:
O mighty conqueror of enemies, there is no end to My divine manifestations. What I have spoken to you is but a mere indication of My infinite opulences.
TEXT 40:
О звитяжний, нема кінця Моїм божественним виявам. Ті, про які Я повідав тобі, є лише тьмяне віддзеркалення Моїх безмежних божествених щедрот.
TEXT 41:
Know that all opulent, beautiful and glorious creations spring from but a spark of My splendor.
TEXT 41:
Знай, що всі гідні подиву, прекрасні й славетні творіння виникають лише із іскри Мого сяйва.
TEXT 42:
But what need is there, Arjuna, for all this detailed knowledge? With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe.
TEXT 42:
О Арджуно, навіщо знати про все це в подробицях? Лише однією часткою Себе Я пронизую і підтримую весь цей всесвіт.
