Traducción
Better for me if the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, weapons in hand, were to kill me unarmed and unresisting on the battlefield.
Para mí sería mejor que los hijos de Dhṛtarāṣṭra, armas en mano, me mataran en el campo de batalla, desarmado y sin ofrecer resistencia.

Significado
It is the custom – according to kṣatriya fighting principles – that an unarmed and unwilling foe should not be attacked. Arjuna, however, decided that even if attacked by the enemy in such an awkward position, he would not fight. He did not consider how much the other party was bent upon fighting. All these symptoms are due to soft-heartedness resulting from his being a great devotee of the Lord.
De acuerdo con los principios kṣatriyas de pelea, es costumbre no atacar a un enemigo desarmado y que no está dispuesto a pelear. Arjuna, sin embargo, decidió que no pelearía, aunque el enemigo lo atacara en una situación como esa. Él no tomó en cuenta cuán decidido a pelear se hallaba el otro bando. Todos estos síntomas se deben a la benevolencia que en él se manifiesta por ser un gran devoto del Señor.
