prahlādaś cāsmi daityānāṁ
kālaḥ kalayatām aham
mṛgāṇāṁ ca mṛgendro ’haṁ
vainateyaś ca pakṣiṇām

Translation

Von den Daitya-Dämonen bin Ich der hingegebene Prahlāda, unter den Bezwingern bin Ich die Zeit, unter den wilden Tieren bin Ich der Löwe, und unter den Vögeln bin Ich Garuḍa.

Among the Daitya demons I am the devoted Prahlāda, among subduers I am time, among beasts I am the lion, and among birds I am Garuḍa.

ERLÄUTERUNG: Diti und Aditi sind Schwestern. Die Söhne Aditis werden Ādityas genannt, und die Söhne Ditis werden Daityas genannt. Alle Ādityas sind Geweihte des Herrn, und alle Daityas sind Atheisten. Obwohl Prahlāda in der Familie der Daityas geboren wurde, war er von Kindheit an ein großer Gottgeweihter. Wegen seines hingebungsvollen Dienstes und seiner Gottergebenheit gilt er als Repräsentant Kṛṣṇas.

Diti and Aditi are two sisters. The sons of Aditi are called Ādityas, and the sons of Diti are called Daityas. All the Ādityas are devotees of the Lord, and all the Daityas are atheistic. Although Prahlāda was born in the family of the Daityas, he was a great devotee from his childhood. Because of his devotional service and godly nature, he is considered to be a representative of Kṛṣṇa.

Es gibt viele bezwingende Prinzipien, doch die Zeit läßt alle Dinge im materiellen Universum vergehen und repräsentiert daher Kṛṣṇa. Von den vielen Tieren ist der Löwe das mächtigste und wildeste, und unter den Vögeln, von denen es eine Million Arten gibt, ist Garuḍa, der Träger Śrī Viṣṇus, der bedeutendste.

There are many subduing principles, but time wears down all things in the material universe and so represents Kṛṣṇa. Of the many animals, the lion is the most powerful and ferocious, and of the million varieties of birds, Garuḍa, the bearer of Lord Viṣṇu, is the greatest.
