citraketuḥ — král Citraketu; tu — vskutku; tām — to; vidyām — transcendentální poznání; yathā — stejně jako; nārada-bhāṣitām — vyložené velkým mudrcem Nāradou; dhārayām āsa — recitoval; sapta-aham — neustále po dobu jednoho týdne; ap-bhakṣaḥ — když pil pouze vodu; su-samāhitaḥ — velmi pečlivě a pozorně.

Citraketu se postil a pil pouze vodu, a po dobu jednoho týdne neustále velmi pečlivě a pozorně recitoval mantru, kterou mu dal Nārada Muni.
Fasting and drinking only water, Citraketu for one week continuously chanted with great care and attention the mantra given by Nārada Muni.
